In their annual review of the nation’s 23,000 high schools, U.S. News and World Report named Terrebonne High a bronze medal school and rated THS as one of the nation’s leading high schools. Only the top 30% of the nation’s high schools receive this distinction from the magazine. Terrebonne High was ranked 26th in schools in Louisiana (up from 30th two years ago) out-ranking all the other high schools in Terrebonne Parish and the surrounding parishes of Lafourche, St. Mary and St. Charles. Criteria used for judging schools included a high graduation rate, college preparedness (number of AP courses offered and high ACT scores), the performance of minority students and low-income students as compared to those nationally, and that students at Terrebonne High outperform both the district and state on EOC tests in English and Math. We are proud of the great work of our faculty and student body at THS in achieving this national recognition.
