DUAL ENROLLMENT
Terrebonne Parish School District has embraced a 21st century mindset of students progressing at a level that commiserates with their academic ability. TPSD will allow academically talented sophomores, juniors, and seniors to earn college credit while still in high school. Dual enrollment helps students engaged in high school and helps prepare for college-level curriculum. TPSD will pay for tuition, fees, and registration to attend L.E. Fletcher or Nicholls State University. TPSD will reimburse students for books and supplies purchased for classes as long as the student successfully completes the class with a minimal grade of C. Grades earned through the Dual Enrollment program will be put on the student’s permanent high school and college academic records. Grades also earned through the Dual Enrollment program will be used by other programs, including TOPS, to determine my continuing eligibility for those programs. If a student withdraws from the college course or earn a college grade other than A, B, C, or P in the course, the student may not be eligible to enroll as a Dual Enrollment student in a future semesters. To be eligible for participation in the Dual Enrollment program students must: § have approval by principal or his designee § have a minimum ACT English score of 18 § have a minimum ACT math score of 19 § have a minimum high school GPA of 2.3. § 22-23 school year, can have counselor recommendation if does not meet ACT qualifications.
